It all started back when I was about 15 years old... I had fallen in love with growing flowers and had just come across the idea of growing cut flowers. So as a kid, living out of town in Woodmillar, I scouted out my parents property to find the perfect place to start growing my flowers. I excitedly told my dad about the idea, and jumping on board, he suggested a plot where my grandfather had previously grown vegetables in the past years. 

We had a look at the paddock - which at the time was covered in buffle grass and had some old posts sticking out of the ground from an old fence - and decided it would be a good start. We cleared away the grass and put up a temporary fence to keep the cattle out.

From there, through trial and error, I learnt and expanded that plot from 3 x 10m beds to 18 x 15m beds. Within the years of expanding to that, poor dad had to move that fence for me at least three times to keep expanding with my growing passion. At this point, I had used up the best area of that plot and was limited in the water supply I had there. So then came the next step.

A beautiful friend allowed me to start growing on her property. Being on the river, I had all all the water I needed and she use to have a flower farm on the property too, so the set up was an incredible head start. At the start of 2022, we cleared the beds and started growing there, filling up 10 x 70m long beds and I began my regular florist and wholesale supplies.

Woodmillar Cut Flowers has grown from a passion and hobby, into a full time flower farm and florist, offering beautiful fresh cut flowers and stunning designs for your events or wedding florals.
